In 2004, CHAD established a partnership with Bridge Communities and Catholic Charities, agencies who are committed to bettering the lives of homeless families and empowering them to gain self-sufficiency through a Transitional Housing Program. The agencies identify families who are at risk of becoming homeless and connect the family to a faith-based organization who in turn provides a housing subsidy and a volunteer mentor for a defined period of time. These organizations also provide case management. CHAD rents approximately 10% of its housing units for transitional housing. For more information on transitional housing, you can refer to these web sites:

CHAD partners with DuPage County Health Department. The County leases CHAD apartments for Supportive Apartments, a residential program for mental health clients.

CHAD partners with the DuPage Homeownership Center to help Just Homes buyers. CHAD requires that the buyers attend homeownership and financial counseling at the Center before they sign the purchase contract.

CHAD partners with the DuPage Housing Authority (DHA.) DHA administers Housing Choice Vouchers (aka Section 8), funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, that provide rental assistance/subsidy for approximately 2,500 DuPage households. CHAD is one of many DuPage County landlords who welcome Housing Choice voucher holders, in fact, an annual average 30% of Chad’s tenants are voucher holders.
