About Community Housing Association of DuPage
Welcome! We are celebrating our 25th Anniversary in 2008!
Community Housing Association of DuPage (CHAD) was founded as a 501(c)(3) corporation in 1983 by the DuPage Housing Authority to specifically address the serious need for larger capacity (3 – 4 bedroom units). We started with 6 units. Since then, we have applied for, and received, federal HUD and DuPage County grants to develop all sizes of affordable rental units. We now have 350 truly affordable, quality rentals in 26 DuPage communities for low- and moderate-income households, primarily the working poor families of DuPage County.
CHAD builds, purchases, rehabs, rents, and manages quality, affordable housing rentals in DuPage County, Illinois. We develop affordable rentals so that those who work in DuPage …. can also live here. Our communities need lower and moderate income wage earners, and the workers need affordable workforce housing.
We offer studio/efficiencies, one- , two- ,three-, and four bedroom apartments and townhouses, as well as single-family houses.
We have a passion for quality affordable housing! We conduct superior tenant screening and qualifying. Our property management and maintenance results in quality housing, low administrative costs, and affordable mixed-income housing that is a credit to neighborhoods. We develop quality, affordable housing with a compassionate attitude, and we develop finances and support sufficient to continue to increase and manage quality, affordable housing.
